How to mount a DOS drive in DOSBox on the Acer Aspire One

August 25th, 2009 John No comments

To run classic PC games you need to create a directory on your Acer Aspire One which will be used as the DOS Drive in the DOSBox Emulator.

To do this I used the My Files Application to create a directory called dosprog in /home/user/

This is the space where to store your Dos Applications.

Screenshot-5

To access this directory as the C: in DOSBox:
1) Launch DOSBox
2) Type mount c ~/dosprog
3) You will now be able to access the directory through DOSBox as if it was the c: on a DOS PC.

Screenshot-6I have found that to get the best results you should mount the drive to the directory of the Application that you want to run.
EG If I wanted to run Wing Commander
I would mount c: like this: mount c ~/dosprog/wc1

I would then type c: to change to the C drive and then run the EXE file.
