Before you can install further applications on the Acer Aspire One you need to activate Advanced Mode.

Here is the procedure with screen captures of my progress. Click on pictures to enlarge.

1) Go to the Files section and click on My Documents to open the File Manager. Then go to File > Terminal. This opens the Terminal Screen.

12) Type “xfce-setting-show” into the Terminal Window get the Xfce Settings Manager.

23) Click on the Desktop icon to get to the Desktop Preferences and choose the Behavior tab.

34) Now mark under Menus the Show desktop menu on right click option and close the window.

This setting will allow you to bring up the normal desktop menu when you right click somewhere on the desktop.

The Desktop Menu contains much more options than the standard user interface on the Acer Aspire One.
