How to install a shoot em up for the Acer Aspire One

There’s a version of the classic arcade game Galaga for the Acer Aspire One called Xgalaxy.

Xgalaxy runs well on the Linpus version of the Acer Aspire One and the installation is an easy process through the Advanced Mode Menu (Click here to see how to install The Advanced Mode Menu)

To install Galaxy:

  1. Right click on the Desktop to display the Advanced Mode Menu
  2. Choose System and then Add/Remove Software.
  3. Enter you admin password and click on ok
  4. When the Package Manager loads click on the search tab.
  5. In the search box enter xgalaxy and click on search.
  6. When the search has finished check the tick box next to xgalaxy and click on Apply.

Screenshot-127. This will install XGalaxy.

8. You will now be able to find Xgalaxy in the Games section of the Advanced Mode Menu

John, you may want to make a posting on how to install a FPS on the Aspire One. Quake3 Arena runs very smoothly on this netbook. In the advanced menu, goto system…add/remove software. Search for Quake and put a tick in the quake3-demo box. The rest is easy as installation goes all by itself. You can play against bots. Open arena is derived from Q3 Arena, but I prefer the original ID game!
