Everyone Loves the classic computer game Lemmings. It’s one of the most popular games of all time and has appeared on almost all Video Games Formats, and it’s now possible to play something similar on the Acer Aspire One running Linpus.

Acer have recently released some new applications for the Acer Aspire One which can be downloaded from their webpage and one of the applications included is a very nice Lemmings Clone called Pingus.

A Video of Pingus can be seen by clicking here.

To install Pingus on the Acer Aspire One follow the following steps.

1. Cick here to Download the file pingus.sh.zip to Aspire one directly.
2. Double click pingus.sh.zip, and uncompress the zip file via “Xarchiver”, there should be a new file named “pingus.sh” in the same folder with pingus.sh.
3. Go to pingus.sh folder and double click pingus.sh.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

I notice you haven’t covered ScummVM – which can be installed from the package manager (as can Pingus on my install). It comes with Beneath a Steel Sky for free, which is great, and another game I’ve forgotten. It’ll let you play lots of old lucasarts games, and the beta version will let you play the discworld games and other non lucasarts games – provided you have (or can get) some of the game files.

    Hi Albert

The instructions are for the Linpus Linux version of the Acer Aspire One, and won’t work on the Windows version.

    Cheers
