How to install a Solitaire Game on the Acer Aspire One
Solitaire is a very popular card game, and an electronic version comes with Microsoft Windows making it one of the most frequently played computer games ever.
As standard the Linux version of the Acer Aspire One doesn’t come with a Solitaire game, but it’s easy to add a good one called PySol.
To install PySol:
- Right click on the desktop to bring up the advanced menu.
- Choose add/remove Software from the System Tab. (You may need to enter your Admin Password)
- Search for Solitaire in the Search section.

- Click on Apply
- PySol will now install
After Installation Pysol will be available in the Games section of the Advanced Menu.

When i try this, it tells me that there are unresolvable dependencies. eg libpython2.5.so.1.0 for python imaging (and four others like that).
Any idea what I should do?
thanks
Hi Jim.
I’m really sorry – I don’t know what to suggest.
I’ve just tried this again on my AA1 and it works fine
Sorry I can’t be of any more help, other then to say uninstall it and then re-install it.
Can anyone else out there help Jim?
Cheers
John M
Its no problem. Its not the end of the world. I’m new at linpus but I have seen this dependency issue message before. In general what does it mean? a conflict between software or something missing?
Thanks
jim
I noticed that when i re-installed it last night, it had to pull down and install a lot if dependencies – other software libraries it needs to run.
If for some reason a dependency couldn’t be installed then the game won’t run.
Did you try re-installing through the add\remove software tool?
